An SSI Open Water course can be completed in a minimum of three days. At Airlie beach, your three days may comprise of either:

One day in the classroom/pool at Shingley Beach resort, followed by two day trips to the Great Barrier Reef aboard 'Seaflight' to complete 4 training dives.

Three individual day-trips to the Great Barrier Reef aboard 'Sealight' to complete 6 training dives.

The above will be subject to dive numbers. All of the open water training dives are from the Knuckle reef pontoon on the Outer Barrier Reef

The SSI Student Manual includes study guide questions at the end of each section to help you retain your new knowledge and test your retention. During your SSI Open Water Diver training sessions you will learn all of the necessary skills and safe diving procedures to be a comfortable confident diver. SSI Open Water Diver certification cards are recognized throughout the world. They entitle you to dive with other certified divers, enable you to purchase/rent equipment and obtain air fills anywhere you choose to dive.
